Monuments Across Appalachian Virginia (MAAV) is thrilled to enter its second year as a project. As the holiday season winds down, MAAV would like to quickly thank you for all the support you have given our project over the past year. Because of your support and participation, this new year launched the beginning of a new phase in our monuments work. This month brought huge news for MAAV, as we were finally able to announce our first round of funded projects! 2024 will result in many exciting new challenges and opportunities for our MAAV team, and we are eager and ready to embrace them all in the spirit of our mission to share “More Mountain Stories.” Over the next several months, our projects teams will be moving forward with developing their individual monuments, while MAAV’s leadership and advisory board members will also be hard at work screening our Round 2 projects applications and supporting our incredible projects teams. Our goal is to have our second round of funded projects announced by May, so stay tuned and do not miss out on more exciting announcements in the coming months!
